The magic of the Huasteca Potosina is something you have to experience at least once. Navigating the Tampaón River through its abundant jungle is perhaps the best way to explore this region.
How to get to the Tampaón River
The tributary and its main attractions, such as the Tamul waterfall, are located about 30 km from Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosí, the nearest city. To get there, you have to take federal highway number 70 in the direction of Río Verde until the deviation to Tanchachín.
There, you must drive south about 20 km until you reach this town, where you will have no problem hiring transportation and guides to the river.
